congressional race

I just hope Rhode Islanders give this one a real hard thought and make a wise decision. We really need to consider the consequences of poor representation both in Washington and in our state. It will be interesting to see where Rhode Islanders put their priorities. Thoughts?

  1. I am very concerned about our state and federal government representation. I truly believe the old saying, "you get what you pay for", only here it is "you get what you elect." People need to pay attention because until we vote these people out of office, nothing will change! I am very concerned about the direction this current administration is taking us in. It needs to stop blaming the prior administration and start taking responsibility for what is going on now.

  2. Let's support John Loughlin of Tiverton in his bid to vanquish "Patches" Kennedy - RI's entitled yet disfunctional congressman. That's a change long overdue.

  3. Just once, I'd like to see the Providence Journal take off the gloves and expose the power structure in this state. Name names, put in the time and bust this system wide open. Channels 6-10-12 should do the same and realize that news feeds from police scanners and traffic cameras isn't news -it's filler.

  4. The party in power here in RI - the Democrats -are not going to give up anything. They won't even allow a vote on the single lever issue. I don't see m uch changing in 2010. Patrick Kennedy will win again, as will Jim Langevin - our two congressmen for life.

  5. The problem is that once you throw out this crop of career politicians, what are your options - the election of different career politicians. We need the return of statesmen to replace career politicians. In the 18th & 19th century, government service was an opportunity to work for the country after which they returned to their career. Now, government service has become a career. I do not support term limits, but I do support statesmen.
